The dietary preferences of green tea and black tea are different, so it is necessary to make a proper selection.
West Lake Longjing tea is a type of green tea. Other teas such as Dongting Biluochun, Huangshan Maofeng, and Tiantai Yunwu tea are also green teas. The production process of these teas involves steaming, rolling, and drying, which retains the original freshness and elegance of the tea leaves, along with their distinctive features of high aroma, rich flavor, and beautiful shape. On the other hand, black tea is processed without steaming but through withering, causing the fresh leaves to lose some moisture, then rolling, and finally fermentation, which oxidizes the tea polyphenols and turns them into red compounds. Some of these compounds dissolve in water, while others accumulate in the leaves, resulting in red tea soup and red leaves. Yunnan Red and Qimen Red are both examples of this type.
Different types of tea all contain amino acids, sugars, caffeine, chlorophyll, carotenoids and aromatic volatile substances, which have beneficial effects on the circulatory system, nervous system and urinary system.
From the perspective of medicinal properties, green tea is slightly cold and its cooling nature is more effective in relieving heat and reducing body temperature; black tea has a slightly warm nature and helps warm the stomach and stimulate appetite. Due to its rich flavor and strong aroma, black tea also helps digest food accumulation and treat diarrhea and dysentery. It should be noted that some people may experience stomach pain when drinking green tea, as their stomach is already cold and they are not suitable for the cooling nature of green tea; while drinking black tea may cause dry throat and discomfort, this is because the body has a high heat level and is not tolerant of the heat of black tea.
